Moncton is home to the world-famous Tidal Bore. While it’s not as magnificent as it once was, it is awe-inspiring to consider the water displaced by the tides in the Bay of Fundy. You can see the bore daily on Moncton’s riverfront trail that runs parallel to Main Street giving you access to great views, and great dining and shopping!
About 30 minutes south of Moncton, is Sackville where you’ll find not only a world-renowned university but also the Sackville Waterfowl Park. The park hosts 2.5 miles of boardwalks and walking trails through its 55 acres of woods, water, marsh, and meadow. Stop by the visitor centre and pick up your brochure with a checklist for some of the 180 bird species, and over 200 plants that can be found on your adventure!
Just south of Sackville you’ll find the National Historic Site, Fort Beausejour. The fort is still standing and can be explored, with information about its history available in the visitor’s centre.
Any trip to South and Southeastern New Brunswick wouldn’t be complete without a trip to the Hopewell Rocks. Home of the world’s highest tides, Hopewell Rocks gives you the opportunity to literally walk on the ocean floor.
