Coastal Inns is proud to recognize the long and continuing service to our organization, as well as to the hotel industry, of one of our General Managers. Wayne Somers, GM at Coastal Inn Dartmouth, is celebrating a milestone birthday this month and we felt that his years of service are particularly noteworthy.
Wayne began his career in hospitality, while still in his teens, at the Isle Royal Hotel in Sydney, Cape Breton. After a few years at the Isle Royal, he moved on to the Cape Bretoner Motel, before joining the Wandlyn organization where he managed several hotels around the Maritimes through the ’70s, ’80s and early ’90s. Wayne joined the team at Coastal Inn Dartmouth in April 1999 and now has over 24 years service at that location.
Steven Metlege, owner of Coastal Inn Dartmouth since 2022, added, ” . . . he is a pleasure to have as our manager, he has the utmost integrity and we all totally love him. We wish him many years of health, happiness and prosperity”
It is one thing to have so many years of dedicated, professional service to the same industry, but in Wayne’s case he continues to bring energy and vitality to work with him every day. He consistently arrives at the hotel early in the morning and puts in time that we can only marvel at.
