While there are many signs of summer, from the green leaves on trees, to the warmer weather, one sure sign is getting ready to travel. Road trips, camping, hiking, and hotel stays are all staples on the summer travel itinerary. Right now, the Bubble is open for all Atlantic Canadians, so we have a very wide selection of activities, and destinations that we can add to our itinerary. Many of which were out of reach for a number of months with border restrictions. We’re all very excited about these new summer travel opportunities. Here are our tips on how to travel this summer, wonderfully and safely.
First things first, when you travel this summer and are leaving your home province, keeping safety top of mind is still a very good idea. Regardless of the fact that things are slowly getting back to normal, keeping distance, extra masks on hand, and being careful are still important. While everyone is, generally, much more optimistic now that the bubble has opened, it’s still a good practice to be patient and kind with those you interact with at tourist destinations, stores and shops, restaurants, and more. It’s been a long 17 months and a little extra kindness goes a long way.
Summer traveling also means summer weather, so be sure that if you’re spending time outside that you have what you need. Sunscreen, water, and lots of snacks will help you enjoy your summer outdoors. Beaches, hiking trails, and splash pads are open in most communities giving you some amazing opportunities to get active, and stay cool!
This summer may be the perfect opportunity to try a new style of vacationing. While it’s fun to pack as much into a road trip as possible, consider picking one spot as a home base, and make day trips. All Coastal Inn locations are situated near some amazing views, sites, and activities in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. You’re always within a short drive of some of the best places the Maritimes have to offer. Choosing one spot also gives you the peace of mind knowing that you have less points of contact, helping to keep you and your family safe.
