We know; we’ve been here before. But now that the Atlantic Bubble will be back SO soon, we are VERY excited and optimistic that things will be different this time with so many doing their part. So, we’d like to take this opportunity to speak with you again about what to remember when it comes to planning a summer vacation inside the Atlantic Bubble!
Remember that many locations are going to have Covid safety regulations in effect. This could mean things like physical distancing, and wearing masks, but can also mean ticketed entrances, and a limited number of visitors. Check out social media feeds, websites, or give a call to find out details before you start your trek.
With many places focusing on safety, it might be a good idea to consider more nature-based activities. Walking trails, national and provincial parks, beaches, and hiking trails are all great places to expand your local knowledge, get some exercise and keep you and yours safe! It may be hard to contain your excitement about getting to see places and faces that you haven’t been able to for a long time – but if we keep doing our part – we’ll get to continue opening up more and more!
During this time, local businesses have had to change their game plans to ensure they stay afloat. When possible, consider supporting local, whether that means eating at a local restaurant or food truck, staying with a locally owned hotel like a Coastal Inn, or buying souvenirs from locally owned shops. These businesses are the backbone of economies and communities, and some of them struggled to get through the last year. You supported local in your home city/area during the pandemic, trust that those visiting now will lend a hand in your communities, and you do the same as you’re out and about in the Maritimes! Keep in mind, too, that a lot of folks working in these places have been under a lot of stress. Be kind, be patient, and tip well.
Traveling this summer in our bubble might be a little challenging, but it will also be more rewarding than EVER before. The Atlantic Provinces are home to some of the most beautiful and amazing attractions in the world. Embrace YOUR chance to rediscover your home!
