The dog days of summer are here when the days are warm, and the nights are getting cooler. Soon the leaves will start changing colours, and pumpkin spice everything is right around the corner. While most of us are looking towards hunkering down for the snow and winter, there’s still some time to get out and enjoy our fantastic corner of the world! If you’re coming through New Brunswick, your best stop this time of year is going to be on the Fundy coast. Fundy National Park, the Fundy Parkway, St Martin’s and Alma all present gorgeous views, amazing food, and nature that will take your breath away. There are few things better than eating a lobster roll and smelling the salt sea air. Making your way East and then South from there, you’ll come through Sackville where a brisk walk through the Waterfowl Park is sure to excite any bird watcher, amateur or otherwise!
In Nova Scotia, Digby, on the other side of the Bay of Fundy, you’ll find whale watching tours up until mid-October. Don’t miss out on your opportunity to see ocean life as you’ve never seen it before! Make sure you’ve packed your sweater, because keeping with an outdoor theme, Arisaig Provincial Park near Antigonish is home to many fossil beds overlooking the local beach on the Northumberland Strait.
The day you hit the coast and arrive in Halifax and Dartmouth, you’ll see amazing views of the Halifax Harbour no matter which side of the Angus L Macdonald Bridge you’re on. From the gorgeous views to the amazing restaurants, Halifax and Dartmouth will wow you. pro tip: Take the ferry across the harbour for the best view!
