DIY Halloween Treats
For something a little different, here are a couple of favourite seasonal treat recipes from the team that we’d like to share!
Rosemary Pumpkin Seed Brittle
1/2 cup unsalted butter, sliced
2 cups granulated sugar
1/2 cup water
1/3 cup golden syrup
1/2 tsp. baking soda
2 1/2 cups roasted, salted pepitas
1 tbsp. chopped fresh rosemary
1/4 tsp. freshly ground black pepper
Large-flake sea salt (such as Maldon)
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. In a large saucepan, combine sugar, water, butter, and golden syrup and bring to a boil. Cook until caramel is light brown.
Remove from heat, stir in baking soda, then quickly mix in pepitas, rosemary, and pepper.
Spread the mixture on the baking sheet, sprinkle with sea salt, cool completely, and break into pieces.
Peanut Butter Monster Munch Halloween Party Mix
Popcorn, pretzels, peanuts, and candies
Creamy peanut butter
Candy melts and sprinkles (optional)
Mix popcorn, pretzels, peanuts, and candies, then spread them onto two large-rimmed baking sheets.
In a pan, melt butter, add honey and sugar, and cook until caramelized.
Remove from heat, stir in salt, peanut butter, and cream, then drizzle over the dry mix.
Optionally, top with melted candy melts and sprinkles, let set, and enjoy!
