We’re ready for fall! Our last blog discussed why we think fall travel is a fantastic time to take in Atlantic Canada and enjoy the slow-paced quiet, once crowds have died down. There are plenty of fun things going on during the fall months in each of our communities, so we thought it would be great to highlight a few at the top of our list to check out! Let’s dive in:
Moncton/Dieppe
Boo at the Zoo – Making a spooky return this October on the 21st & 22nd, as well as the 29th & 30th! Halloween-themed fun, tons of activities AND animals?! Magnetic Hill Zoo does a wonderful job with the yearly event, and there’s something for the whole family!
Greater Moncton Santa Clause Parade – “A North Pole Party” is scheduled for November 26th at 5:00 pm! The last couple of years were disappointing for parade-goers looking forward to this annual staple with Covid restrictions. This year’s parade will be a pretty special one if you ask us!
Sackville
The 20th annual Sackville Fall Fair gets underway on September 21st and runs until the 25th. This fair is jam-packed with events and activities. This year’s highlights include Free Music in the Tent on Friday night (The Ray Oliver Band) and Saturday night (The Mark Green Band and Tristan Horncastle), fireworks on Friday night, the 9th annual “Anything That Floats Race”, and a children’s parade!
Antigonish
Handmade Christmas Market – When buying Christmas gifts, it’s pretty easy to default to big-box stores and practical items. Handmade jewelry, art, baked goods, and so much more make often make for a much more thoughtful and special gift to give. This year’s market is on November 13th from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm!
Digby
Séan McCann of Great Big Sea will be LIVE at the Trinity Anglican Church on September 30th. We know he’s going to be busting out some incredible sea shanties, and it’s going to be a blast! Get your tickets here and don’t miss this one!
Halifax/Dartmouth
Michael Bublé is set to finally play his show in Halifax on October 21st! This show was originally set for 2020, rescheduled to 2021, and then pushed back again to 2022. Fans have been anxiously awaiting this concert and we’re ready for an incredible show. An Evening With Michael Bublé should come with enough serenading to last a lifetime!
Rejigged Festival – Back for its 13th run, Rejigged Festival celebrates Celtic song and dance – the festival dates for 2022 are October 20th-23rd. It features a ton of live and virtual shows from supremely talented Celtic artists from around the world. There are even dance and music workshops hosted by some of the performers for those interested in learning (and doing) more!
We weren’t kidding, fall is a GREAT time to adventure in Atlantic Canada. These are just a few of the things happening over the next couple of months. Whether you’re on the road for work, traveling for a tournament with the kids, or getting away for a quiet escape – there’s always something to do and Coastal Inn nearby to welcome you.
Happy fall travels!
