If your March Break finds you in Antigonish, make your way to Keppoch Mountain for some amazing outdoor adventure! With a variety of groomed snowshoeing trails ready to explore and views of the rolling countryside and forest, you’ll have an amazing day in the fresh air of Antigonish.
Sometimes, a quiet and low-energy leg of your March Break festivities is in order. A visit to picturesque Digby might be exactly what you need. With a very convenient ferry ride from Saint John NB, exploring this beautiful coastal town is never too far a journey. Keep an eye on https://digbyarearecreation.ca/ – they have yet to announce any programs for the week, but it looks like there may be some in the works for those looking to take in some activities during their stay.
For many Maritimers, a March Break holiday isn’t the same without a trip to the HRM. No matter what side of the bridges you find yourself on, there is plenty to do in Halifax and Dartmouth.

If your March Break adventures bring you to Moncton, there is plenty going on nearby to you and your active family moving! Expect a great night’s sleep! First, you explore the trails at Centennial Park on snowshoes and skies. You can also enjoy the outdoor rink near the main entrance, or play hockey at the Kaboom rink and more. Cross country ski and snowshoe rentals are available upon booking and paying in advance. Details here!
You can also enjoy skating at the outdoor refrigerated skating oval at Place 1604, behind City Hall, Dieppe. Open weekdays from 10 am – 9:30 pm they offer free skate and helmet loans Fridays from 6 pm – 9 pm and Sundays from 12:30 pm – 9:30 pm.
Grrrrrreat times at the weekly Magnetic Hill Zoo openings on Sundays in March from 11:00 am – 3:00 pm! Grab a Beaver Tail, check out some fantastic winter wildlife, visit the Ecodome, and treat yourself to some delicious maple products from the Mobile Maple Bush. More details here!
If you want to get active, but avoid the cold, you can spend some time at FitRocks! Challenge yourself at Atlantic Canada’s largest indoor rock climbing facility! The gym features Canada’s first Augmented Climbing Wall, and an auto-belay wall great for kids.
